## 1. When is the best time of day for our session?
The short answer: Golden Hour. To get that gorgeous, glowing light and avoid harsh squinting or heavy shadows, we schedule all beach sessions during the hour before sunset (or just after sunrise if you’re a morning person!). Because the sun is low on the horizon, the sand turns a beautiful soft cream, and the emerald water really shines.
## 2. What happens if it rains or looks cloudy?
Don’t worry—the Gulf weather changes fast! I monitor the radar closely on the day of our session. If it’s just overcast, we will absolutely still shoot! Overcast skies actually act like a giant light diffuser, creating beautiful, soft lighting with no squinting.If a typical Alabama summer thunderstorm rolls in right at our session time, we will do our best to wait it out or reschedule to an alternate day during your vacation. Because of this, I highly recommend booking your session early in your trip so we have backup days available if needed.
## 3. Will you edit out other beachgoers and tourists?
Yes, absolutely! During peak vacation season, our Gulf Shores and Orange Beach shores can get crowded. While I choose locations like Cotton Bayou Beach or spots around The Lodge at Gulf State Park that give us a bit more breathing room, stray tourists in the distance are inevitable. Part of my standard editing process includes removing distracting background elements so the focus remains entirely on your family.
## 4. My kids can’t sit still. Is that going to be a problem?
Not at all—in fact, I prefer it! My photography philosophy is all about capturing your family in your natural element. I expect kids to want to run, dig in the sand, and splash in the water. I won’t force them into stiff, uncomfortable poses. Instead, I use prompts and games that turn the session into play, allowing me to capture those genuine, belly-laugh smiles.
## 5. What should we wear?
Keep it simple, comfortable, and timeless. You can’t go wrong with light, breathable shirts and khakis or jeans on the bottom. Neutral tones, soft pastels, blues, and whites look stunning against our sugar-white sands.
- Bonus Tip: Leave the shoes behind! Beach sessions are best done barefoot.
## 6. How and when do we get our photos?
Your high-resolution images will be delivered via a private, password-protected online digital gallery. You’ll be able to download your photos, share them with family, and order professional-grade prints directly from your gallery. Turnaround time is typically 2–3 weeks following your session.
## 7. Do you offer a military discount?
